We are John and Dianne Arguelles and live in Santa Barbara, CA. We both are native Californians and we have five grown children who are spread out across the U.S. and eleven grandchildren. We purchased the house in August 2005 and named it Casa Contenta because we wanted it to represent exactly that… contentment! We remodeled most of it and bought all new furnishings.
When you stay at Casa Contenta you get personalized service from beginning to end. We enjoy giving our guests a "margarita welcome" with homemade salsa, guacamole and chips made especially by our maid, Mauri. YUM! Dianne prepares a Renters' Information Packet for you to read before arrival, which is chock-full of good information about the house, where to eat and what to do while you are in P.V. If you don't have something we will do all we can to get it for you. Our goal is for you to have the time of your life!
We chose to buy this house in this location because…
... of the special feel it has and the proximity to beaches, restaurants, boutiques and the pulse of the town. (It doesn't hurt that they call the area "the Beverly Hills" of Puerto Vallarta also!) The first response we had when we stepped onto the terrace for the first time was a gasp. The view took our breaths away. We had to have it!
Some of the unique benefits we enjoy while we are staying at Casa Contenta are...
The house sits high on a hillside and looks down onto Conchas Chinas Beach, El Set and Lindo Mar restaurants which is less than a 10 minute walk down the hill and a 20 minute walk to The Romantic Zone and Los Muertos Beach.
Most mornings we hike up to the top of the hill, which gives us our workout for the day! Then we savor the wonderful Mexican coffee, sitting on the terrace while the city wakes up. In the late afternoon we float in the infinity pool with our favorite drinks waiting for the whales to appear right in front of the house. Then the last treat is watching the "green flash" at sunset. Those famous Vallarta sunsets~ a different color every night! Many nights we are given the gift of fireworks over the bay in front of the house. There is nothing like it here at Casa Contenta. Many guests say it has a definite "wow factor" and the pictures don't do it justice. You just have to experience it for yourself!
| We are fortunate to have a wonderful maid/housekeeper whose name in Mauri and all of our visitors rave about her. She cleans, changes bedding and linens when needed and may occasionally cook a breakfast for you. She even gave a Mexican cooking lesson for one rental party! Mauri does not speak English, but she is learning and she tries! She works from 9-4, Monday through Friday and 9-1 on Saturday. Sunday is her day off when she is home with her husband and three children. |

Mercedes, our administrator, takes care of anything that is needed and speaks very good English. She is here to greet our guests and show how the house works! She also can arrange an outside cook/chef, mariachi band or a driver. If you need anything please call Mercedes; she's always there to help or answer questions. She is the mother of two girls. |

Because we want to keep our home allergy-free, there is No Smoking inside our house or on the terrace. We also do not allow any pets and no children under the age of 10 for safety reasons. We want your visit to be very comfortable, relaxing, fun and full of wonderful memories. It is important to us that you really enjoy our home, relax and bask in the magic of Puerto Vallarta.
